Good morning and welcome to the Daily Self Newsletter! Last week, I kicked off a new schedule and format: On Mondays, you’ll receive the “big picture” post, and then Tuesday through Thursday you’ll get bite-sized learnings related to the big picture.
Also, if you’ve been around since the beginning, you may have noticed our new logo! I’d love to know your thoughts, so feel free to drop a comment or email me at dailyselfnewsletter@gmail.com.
One thing for you to think about
When something amazing happens to you, it's important to have people around who are genuinely happy for you. And when something great happens to someone else, it's important to be genuinely happy for them too. Embracing and supporting the success of others not only demonstrates kindness but also cultivates your own growth and fulfillment.
When you support and cheer for others, you’re creating a positive and empowering environment, and contributing to a collective culture of success. It's through lifting others up and helping them succeed that you open doors for your own achievements.
When you offer your assistance, knowledge, or resources to those around you, you’ll find yourself building strong connections and inspiring others to reach their full potential. In turn, as you witness others achieving greatness, you’ll be reminded of what is possible for yourself and that you are capable of achieving remarkable things.
Discovery: Every day is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and others. Reflect on these ideas and consider sharing.
Two things for you to ask yourself
If there are individuals in your life who fail to share in your joy when positive things occur, why do you think that is? Does having them in your life help or hurt you?
If you find yourself unable to genuinely celebrate the successes of others in your life, what is triggering you? Is there a feeling of judgment or resentment that isn’t about them, but about you?
Use these questions as journaling prompts.
One thing for you to try
Take a moment to observe your emotions when someone shares their good fortune or accomplishments with you. If you find yourself feeling triggered, acknowledge the arising emotions, but envision how it would feel to be happy for them. Consider how expressing this happiness could strengthen your relationship with them.
Experiment: Growth happens when you step outside of your comfort zone and make brave choices. Reply to this email or leave a comment and let me know how it went.
